Humans since 1982

Inimitable, collectable timepieces that put a new spin on function and aesthetics
“Time is part of the shape of the object, it influences the design of the object, and it is the function of the object.”

What do they offer?

Swedish design studio Humans since 1982 creates kinetic art timepieces that quite literally perform the dance of time. Founded by Per Emanuelsson and Bastian Bischoff, the Stockholm-based duo craft mesmerizing clocks made from dozens of individual clock hands. The hands swirl and rotate in seemingly random patterns, only to align perfectly every minute to reveal the time.

Tell me more…

First launched as “The Clock Clock”, their concept has evolved into collectible editions, large-scale masterpieces and bespoke commissions displayed everywhere from the Saatchi Gallery in London to Singapore Airport. Each clock is hand-assembled, modular and built to last for generations.

The extra mile

Rooted in the philosophy that “form follows fascination”, the studio’s designs treat time as both function and material. They turn something ordinary into something magical, transforming timekeeping into a hypnotic, playful spectacle you’ll never tire of watching.
